5-Year Energy Plan to Support Global Sustainability Goals

Project Overview
A global manufacturing site was tasked with delivering on group-wide sustainability commitments. With a clear timeframe and a defined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions target, the challenge was to develop a comprehensive plan to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions in line with corporate goals.

Key Actions and Results

  • Baseline Established: Leveraging existing site data, a clear energy baseline was quickly established, providing the foundation for strategic planning.

  • Defined Targets: A kWh reduction target was set based on Scope 1 and 2 emissions, aligning with group sustainability commitments.

  • Holistic Planning: A single project or procurement change was not sufficient—an integrated 5-year capital and management plan was developed covering multiple technologies and operational improvements.

  • First Initiative: The first implemented measure focused on optimizing the site’s vacuum system, delivering measurable savings in both energy and carbon from year one.

Outcome
This staged, long-term approach ensures that each year contributes to the broader goal. It provides time for capital planning, staff engagement, and iterative improvements—laying the foundation for meaningful and sustained carbon reduction.

Client Testimonials

"From understanding legal requirements of ESOS and EED the professional was able to design, instruct and have 42 reports completed across the EU and UK. The regulators confirmed the company was in compliance. The board was then able to prioritise necessary investment."

Christina Stapis, DNV Ltd.

"We've partnered on countless successful projects with great collaboration, consistently strong technical contributions, and drive to get projects over the finishing line. The outcomes have been a testament to the power of teamwork and execution. We look forward to our next project."
